French President pledges $700 million to International Solar Alliance with India

French president Emmanuel Macron landed in New Delhi on March 9. A major part of his visit to India has been the International Solar Alliance, launched by France and India in 2015. During Macron's 2018 visit, he pledged to add another 700 million to the alliance. Since its launch, more than 60 countries have joined the alliance, which aims to fund solar projects in sun rich, but power poor countries near the equator. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Macron are also putting together nuclear power deals.
